Events Old Lyme Conservation Trust has both specifically scheduled events as well as ongoing activities - come by some time and see what we do!
We are constantly working on our properties: With trail maintenance and clearing as well as bird, animal and plant watching. We are also updating this web page with trail reports, bird news etc. Please contact any member of OLCT if
you are interested in joining us on any of these activities. 2005 Annual Meeting. The OLCT annual meeting was held on March 19 in the Grange Hall. There was drinks, hors d'oeuvres and an interesting speaker! Speaker this year was Howard Kilpatrick from the DEP, who talked about deer and moose management issues in the Old Lyme area.
2004 Fall Walk. A walk on the Lay property in September was marvelous with the sun seeping down through the leaves of the forest. Midsummer Festival. OLCT participated in the Old Lyme Midsummer Festival on July 31st, 2004, in the Hand-On, Minds-On section on the grounds of the Florence Griswold Museum. There both children and adults could make their own bookmarks, using original Old Lyme vegetation! Special summer walk. A special walk was held to talk about fish and wildlife issues with Steve Gephard from the DEP and a state biologist. Summer walk in June. A walk in June on National Trail Day. Memorial Day Fair. OLCT was providing information during the traditional Old Lyme Memorial Day Fair.
